“If you’re struggling, and you don’t know what to do, find a mission.” -Patti Katter

Patti Katter had to face painful battles, but the last thing she would think of is running away. At 33, she became a full-time caregiver for her husband, she lost dear friends in combat, her mother died of cancer, and seven months later, her father committed suicide.

Yet, with all these along with her everyday struggles, Patti remains positive and strong. What helped her? Listen in as she shares how finding her mission pushed her to maintain an optimistic outlook. Bruce and Patti also talk about why military caregivers need special support, the power of volunteering, and the role of community in healing.

If you are ever in a position where you do not do what to do, just remember one thing: You are not alone. Some people will try to push you further down and make you believe that you can’t get through your struggles. But there is hope in knowing that many have faced a similar situation as you or even worse, but they came out victorious, and you will too!

Meet Patti:

Patti Katter was born a fighter– not giving up, not backing down, fiercely winning battle after battle.

In her early 30’s, Patti already became her husband’s full-time caregiver after he was severely wounded from an IED explosion. Over the years, they lost many friends in combat. Then, her most painful fight happened when Patti lost her dad to suicide seven months after her mom died of cancer.

In those moments when she felt like giving up, Katti had a very long talk with herself. She chose victory over her pain and sufferings. And through this victory, Patti helps others move from being hopeless to hopeful.

Patti has been podcasting even before people knew what podcast was. Wake Up with Patti is her way of bringing encouragement, motivation, and inspiration to the world.
