Honey-Infused Cornbread
Elevate your traditional cornbread with a taste of honey. It’s a sweet indulgence as a side dish or stand alone snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of yellow cornmeal
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup white sugar
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/3 cup fresh honey
- 1 cup of whipping cream
- Non-stick spray or butter
Directions
1) Combine the flour, sugar, cornmeal, salt, and baking powder and mix in a bowl.
2) In another bowl, mix your beaten eggs with cream, honey, and oil. Beat everything together until well mixed.
3) Stir in the dry ingredients until they are just moistened.
4) Grease the sides and bottom of a 9” square baking pan or dish.
5) Pour your mixture into a baking dish and bake uncovered at 400-degrees for 20 to 25 minutes, and check with a wooden toothpick. Make sure the toothpick comes out clean. 6) The center of your corn break may rise quite high in the pan. Make sure the center is fully cooked.
Fresh corn break is a delectable treat with the addition of real butter. I love the Kerrygold brand. Amazing!
